Many First-time filers receive a letter from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regarding an inquiry about their world income. The CRA conducts a detailed evaluation of newcomers before accepting them into their system. If you have received a letter requesting information on your world income, call the CRA department at 1-800-387-1193 (option-2) and mention the enquiry. World income refers to the income you earned before coming to Canada in a specific year. Your benefits will only be released once you confirm the information with the CRA. It is recommended to call them early morning or late evening to avoid long waiting time.

Kiwi Tax Solutions clients will be sent their world income information which we obtain on record from them.

Note: The CRA may enquire about any past financial information related to you/your spouse.
